How adorable are Sarah and Charlotte? When Sarah told me that she had signed up for PurPose: Portraits with a Purpose Pop-Up to have some mommy - n- me photos, I was so excited to get to meet her. Bonus points? She’s my neighbor! :) Being that we’d just moved into the hood, I was thrilled to meet another mom and her beautiful daughter.

We took photos in the pop-up studio, and also took a stroll around the neighborhood to a nearby woodsy path. Look at how Charlotte is pointing the way! A future leader to be sure!

MOTHERHOOD PORTRAITS MINI SESSIONS TO RAISE MONEY FOR ORPHANS IN UGANDA

A couple of months ago, i did a fundraising photoshoot called Pur-Pose: Portraits with a Purpose. The purpose was to raise money for an orphanage that I work with in Uganda while giving moms the opportunity to have a mini motherhood session on a donation basis. I was so thankful to be able to capture these beautiful women and their children (photos coming in another post) and using the small thing in my hand to spread a little help out into the world.

starting a new...

let's just get this out of the way, shall we, the first post on this blog?  i mean it seems a bit daunting, like i should write something pithy, or witty or... ?  and to be honest i'm not even sure i need this blog -- do people even read blogs anymore?? are they necessary? but i used to keep a blog, a personal journal of life and motherhood. 

you can find it here, SOMETHING STRONG + TRUE.  i started it when i had satine, my firstborn, and it grew as my family grew, and was also a place to present some of my professional photography work.
i suspect this will be the same, a collection of life + work.
